Judo Seminar with Mr. Zdenek Matl – Back on March 1st!
Our last Judo seminar with Mr. Zdenek Matl was an incredible experience! Students of all belt ranks had the opportunity to level up their takedown game, sharpen their technique, and gain a deeper understanding of how Judo complements Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
But beyond the techniques, Mr. Matl left us inspired. Even in his 80s, he moves with efficiency, agility, and confidence—a reminder that skill and longevity go hand in hand when you stay active, train smart, and maintain a strong mindset.
If You Missed It, You’ve Got Another Chance!
We’re excited to announce that Mr. Matl is returning to Dojo Kyle on Saturday, March 1st, at 11:30 AM for another FREE Judo seminar open to all adult students.
This is an incredible opportunity to train with someone whose experience and knowledge of Judo spans decades. Whether you attended the last session or this will be your first time learning Judo, you won’t want to miss it! Here is a link to Mr. Matl’s coaching and competitive resume.
Why Train Judo?
Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu complement each other perfectly. While BJJ focuses on controlling and submitting an opponent on the ground, Judo specializes in getting them there efficiently with throws and trips.
Too often, BJJ students neglect their takedown skills—don’t make that mistake! A strong takedown game gives you more control in a fight or competition. If you can dictate when and how the fight goes to the ground, you’ll always have the upper hand.
Is Judo Too Tough for Beginners?
Judo can seem intimidating—An hour of getting thrown around sounds intense! But don’t worry—Mr. Matl’s teaching style makes it approachable and safe. His techniques emphasize movement, leverage, and positioning rather than brute force, and you’ll be able to practice without taking hard falls.
Whether you’re a white belt or a black belt, this session will give you new tools to improve your martial arts game.
